Answering the Call to Serve

Answering the Call to Serve

This year has been one one of the most trying, exhausting, and yet inspiring years of my life. Today I am thrilled to formally announce my brand new offerings, and share a little bit about what I’ve been working on, how I’ve come to this point in my life’s journey, and how I hope we can work together. Just a few weeks ago I launched this website for my new business as a Life Coach, Spiritual Guide and Grief Counselor. Most of you—if not every single one of you—who might be reading this have played a role in my professional transition and helped influence this new chapter. Whether you’re a friend, family member, congregant, or colleague, I thank you. If you’re able to take the time to explore my new site, I welcome your feedback about it, my offerings, and this journey we call life.

Most of you may know me as Rabbi B, the title I wore as a practicing rabbi for 15 years in Des Moines, IA and then Swampscott, MA. After much thought and deliberation, I moved on from that position and I am proud to say that along with my loving family I have achieved my lifelong goal of moving to Israel. As I’m sure you can imagine, my life has felt pretty turned upside down since that decision was made. My identity, my daily routine, my surroundings and my home have all changed. However, this very change, and the process I went through within it, provided me an invaluable opportunity to clarify my life and return to what I feel called to do. After much introspection, I began to gain clarity, and realize that in all the supposed confusion I had an opportunity to help others with exactly what I was in the midst of—to navigate life’s transitions, challenges and crises, identify their purpose, harness their power and realize the opportunities that abound at any, and every one of life’s trials and transitions.

For the greater part of this year, I have been taking that idea and developing it into what I believe is an accessible, realistic, and profound life-changing program to navigate through any of life’s crossroads (relationship struggles, professional transitions, personal crises, losses of all types), reignite one’s life’s purpose and create an actionable and inspirational plan forward. I have embraced my own calling to truly serve as a guide for others who seek guidance and resources in discovering their calling, creating the life they desire, not in spite of, but because of life’s challenges. Thanks to technology, I am able to work with clients in the comfort of their own homes, anywhere in the world, through phone or video sessions.

I hope my story inspires you, and that if it sounds familiar to you, you’ll consider utilizing some of the tools I’ve been inspired to create which I’ve provided a preview of below. I’ll be using my blog to regularly share details of my personal journey, but to also share tips and inspirations that I believe in. I hope you’ll join me by following my blog, social media and newsletter, and providing comments and feedback along the way. Thank you and God bless.

You have a path to walk which is yours and yours alone. And while you are here for a reason, and you have a purpose, life is anything but simple. Time and again, as we move forward along our life’s path, we run into seemingly impenetrable obstacles. The Way is a life-changing program which combines counseling and my unique Soulwork exercises to help you discover a new way to deal with life’s crossroads. The Way was designed for anyone who wants to proactively confront life’s transitions, trials or tragedies and is ready to start experiencing a major shift in their lives. More information about The Way can be found here.

Mystical Mourning is an 8-day self-guided grief relief program created in partnership with my sister, Spiritual Medium Rebecca Rosen. It consists of 8 days of mind, body, spirit work designed to provide a nurturing and comforting journey through one’s grief. Mystical Mourning is intended to be used at any point during one’s grief—a day after the death of loved one, decades later, or anytime in between. There is no right or wrong way to mourn, and there is no one appropriate timeline. But we do seek to find a way to mourn with meaning and purpose, and to learn to see the light in our darknesses. Mystical Mourning serves as a guide to do just that. More information about Mystical Mourning can be found at mysticalmourning.com.

Grief Guidance is an advancement of my lifelong passion and expertise in guiding people through the grieving process through one-on-one phone/video-conferencing counseling sessions. Grief Guidance can be utilized as stand alone, individual sessions or in combination with Mystical Mourning or my book, Spark Seekers: Mourning with Meaning; Living with Light.  More information about my Grief Guidance offerings can be found here.

In conclusion, this next chapter of my life is simply the fulfillment of what I set out to do over a quarter century ago. I have only ever wanted to cultivate my writing, speaking and counseling skills to help guide others forward along their life’s journey through offering them motivation, insight and inspiration. That is what this is all about and what I’m proud to now offer you. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing encouragement, loyalty and support.
